Strength and Balance for Life

As we get older, it’s normal for our strength, balance, and stamina to change, but that shouldn’t keep us from doing the things we love. Too often, we let these changes prevent us from fully enjoying life. How many times have you let a lack of strength or balance stop you from going on a family vacation or agreeing to babysit the grandkids because you were scared of falling—or worried you wouldn’t have the mobility to get on the ground or the strength to lift the kids up?

At The Training Room NOLA, we’re here to ease those fears by helping you improve not just your strength, balance, and endurance, but your confidence, too.

What is a Perpetual Fitness Class?

Join our Perpetual Fitness Class and see what we’re all about! This class is designed for those 55 and older. Our goal is to make fitness both fun and functional by focusing on movements you use in everyday life.

Think about a simple trip to the grocery store. First, there’s walking for an extended period of time. Then comes reaching—forward, to the side, and overhead. You lift bags into the car, take them out again, carry them inside, and finally, put everything away—bending, lifting, reaching. That’s a lot of work in a short amount of time.

How the Perpetual Fitness Class Can Help

Our exercise program helps make those everyday movements easier and pain-free in a safe, controlled environment supervised by our expert coaches. You’ll practice real-world movements like:

  • Squatting and lifting objects to simulate loading groceries
  • Carrying weights to build stamina for longer walks (like crossing a crowded parking lot)
  • Stationary biking to increase overall endurance
  • Mobility and flexibility work to help with reaching, bending, and getting up and down with ease

You’ll do all of this in a fun, supportive, and welcoming atmosphere. You can move at your own pace, choose your own weights, and count on your coach for supervision, encouragement, and guidance every step of the way.

We’re not just looking to improve your strength—we’re here to help you move and feel better in your daily life.

The Importance of Strength and Balance

Strength, balance, and endurance are all crucial as we age, but perhaps the most important factor is how you feel.

Exercise can improve your mood, help you sleep better, and reduce anxiety and depression—at any age. At The Training Room NOLA, our focus is helping you feel confident enough to participate in your life fully and joyfully. We want you to take that long-awaited anniversary trip, climb the bleachers at your grandkids’ basketball games, get up from the ground after doing yard work, and so much more. And we want you to feel strong and confident doing it all.

If you’re ready to feel your best, join us for our Perpetual Fitness class. Check out our group class calendar: trainingroomnola.com/health-and-fitness-training/group-classes or contact us with any questions—we’d love to hear from you.
